Poster Thé Power of a Seed
A young woman remembers her life before being burned at the stake for being labeled a “witch”. This evokes the overthrow of older religions that had female deity forms for more patriarchal ones as well as the overthrow of the indigenous healing practices of Europe that were passed down through family generations by the rise of the medical establishment. This time is noticeably a point when misogyny reached its most systematic level of murder.
This student film project for Intermediate Experimental Video Art at Florida International University examines the Witch Craze of America and Europe as the historical genocide of women that underlies the continuation of today’s Rape Culture.
